The tide ran out quickly all race after the new moon’s high tide.
Frank O’Rourke on Dino led the catamaran division home on yardstick as usual, ahead of Jack Corthals on Harpic and Dave Winter on Spica, with about 10 minutes between each boat.
However, on handicap, Dino was less than three minutes ahead of Harpic, who in turn was seven seconds ahead of Spica.
Elsa Gandy and Caitlin Hicks in Flying Fish were going well until they hit the bottom in the dropping tide.
In the monohull division, Jeff Walsh and Steve Couch in Big Bang lead the yardstick results ahead of Andrew Hurrell and Sharon Carney in Jupiter.
Steve Bohlsen and Ed Molony followed in Splash Dance, Simon Gandy and Jaiden Bourke in Flying Fish, and Allan Pogonowski and Jane Cooper in Britannia.
Elsa Gandy and Caitlin Hicks in Flying Fish were going well until they hit the bottom in the dropping tide and broke the rudder on the last run, forcing them to retire.
Next weekend is race nine of the summer series.
