Douglas Vale Historic Homestead and Vineyard will be officially opening the Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage Festival in the Port Macquarie/ Hastings region in April.

The opening is on April 21.
A spokesperson for the historic homestead said a full program of entertainment will help launch the festival from 9.30am.
Sing Australia, Team Zumba Krista and Khristina Joy and the Z Chords will star the day’s entertainment.
“Tom Mcllveen won second place at the Tamworth International Poetry awards at Tamworth this year with his poem’ Pippinbarra Dreaming’ which he is performing on the day,” the spokesperson said.
“He will then show his versatility when he and Susan Ashton perform as Spiral Time in which Tom accompanies Susan on harp, guitar and back-up vocals.
“At noon Uncle Bill will start the official ceremony with his Welcome To Country.
“Douglas Vale ‘s curator will provide a brief history of the Douglas Vale Conservation Group followed by ABC Radio’s Cameron Marshall, who will give the Heritage Festival address. Douglas Vale president Ron Hankin will officially open the Festival.”
An Indigenous Youth Dance Troupe will perform and they will followed by Steve Donovan on his didgeridoo.
The Port Macquarie Bush Poets will be next on the bill with a wonderful selection of bush poetry.
Hastings Country Music Club’s Sharon and Mal Salter will wind down the day’s entertainment.
The entertainment will conclude at 2.30pm.
Entry on the day is a gold coin donation.
