Port Macquarie’s Timeless Quilters’ group hosted a successful share a craft day event on Thursday March 15.
The event was held at the Tacking Point Surf Life Saving Club.
Quilters’ president Sue Jenner said the event was ‘probably about our 30th’, attracting members from a range of craft clubs from across the Mid-North Coast.
The day is designed to showcase the skills and ideas of members and to inspire new concepts in craft and handicraft.
The event was sold out, attracting over 120 participants.
“There are 18 groups here today representing craft and quilting groups,” Mrs Jenner said.
“Paper making, embroidery, handicrafts were featured on the day.
“The benefits of the day is that we catch up with old friends, share the knowledge and share information. People can look over the displays and ask questions about the techniques used to make the variety of display items.
“We are keeping alive the spirit and the social aspect of getting together with like-minded people.
“We consider many of these skills as being part of the lost arts and the lost traditions.”
Money raised on the day will be donated to Orange Sky Laundry.
