A man has been charged following an assault in Port Macquarie overnight.

About 2.30am on March 6, emergency services attended Everard Street, Port Macquarie, and found a man with a head injury.
It is alleged the man was assaulted by another man.
The 48-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with multiple injuries.
Officers from Mid North Coast Police District commenced inquiries into the incident.
Following investigations, a 28-year-old man was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
He was charged with inflict grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on March 7.
Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
