Harmony Day aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster a sense of belonging, and Victoria Cooper, the cultural linguistically diverse representative for Interrelate on the Mid North Coast, said every should come and take part in the festivities.

“Harmony Day is all about bring people together in a safe and fun environment,” Ms Cooper said.

“Interrelate provides a number of counselling and relationship services to people across the Mid North Coast and we think Harmony Day is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to provide the community with a chance to come and see what we are all about.

“Our Art Circle activity will be a opportunity for people from different backgrounds, cultures and who may feel in the minority to come together and meet each other.

“It will be a relaxed morning for people to come and see what we do at Interrelate, ask questions and for them to know that if their situation changes we are around to help.”

The morning will involve painting tiles to go in to the children’s play garden at the centre, providing a colourful outlook for people to enjoy, said client service officer Anne Curtis.

“We started the art wall a little while ago and we have received great feedback about the wall so we want to continue to encourage people to come along and help us brighten up the space,” Mrs Curtis said.
