Like so many constituents in Cowper and Lyne it is disappointing to see our local MPs Mr Hartsuyker and Dr Gillespie continue to support their leader and our deputy PM Mr Joyce.

After their spirited defence of “traditional” marriage last year, Mr Joyce and Dr Gillespie ignored the will of their electorates and abstained from voting “Yes” for marriage equality late last year. To his credit, Mr Hartsukyer voted in accordance with his electorate despite his own beliefs.
Now however to support Mr Joyce as their National Party leader and our Deputy Prime Minister is inexplicable. Ignoring his “personal” behaviour, surely his creation of two well paid jobs in the offices of his National Party colleagues for his girlfriend (that are since unfilled as she vacated them) is unethical.
Support him at your peril Mr Hartsuyker and Dr Gillespie. His behaviour unfortunately is now reflecting on your whole party given your ongoing support
