While I commend any man wanting to openly and fairly discuss gender inequality and to take a stand against domestic and family violence, I question the way in which the men in your article are doing so.
Walking a short distance in high heels in no way gives insight to the pain, financial, psychological and physical mistreatment faced by the women who experience domestic and family violence. Rather the message it sends to all women is one of condescension and mockery.
An alternative would be for the men to encourage their male peers to participate in the annual White Ribbon Coastal Walk, held in November each year or participate in the organising and running of the annual Reclaim the Night march.
To the men involved in the Him in Heels campaign - I applaud your commitment. I sincerely question your methods.
