In the 22nd annual event, the hosts will line up against Port Pirates, St Andrews, Macquarie Hotel, Wauchope RSL, Port City, BDM Constructions and Comboyne.
Organiser Darren McCudden said Port City look to be the team to beat as they aim to improve on their six sevens wins.
“Leagues have the big three in Tim Harris, Kyle Bray and Jesse Schmidt, so they’ll be tough to knock off,” he said.
The aptly-named “bash boys” from Beechwood will pose plenty of headaches for bowlers, while St Andrews will also have a strong side.
“I’m sure Josh Hyde will select a pretty handy side with his brother,” McCudden said.
“But I expect it to be a pretty close weekend with not much separating the eight sides.”
The first ball will be bowled at 8am with Pirates to clash with Macquarie which will be followed by St Andrews and BDM.
The winners of those matches will play off the semi-final while Beechwood take on Comboyne and Port City and Wauchope will do battle.
Last year, the Judy Fowler player of the tournament was awarded to Kahlan Duncan while the Brett Border most inspirational junior was given to Fraser Carroll.
Ethan Hyde was the star with the bat and scored the most runs, while Carroll registered the best bowling figures throughout the tournament.
Beau White, Matt Bird and Kahlan Duncan hit the most sixes.
