The plan was presented to the community at a Family Fun Day on November 25, 2017 and proposed features include a fenced playground, picnic areas, wider paths, additional car parks and an interactive family skate and recreation park including seating and exercise equipment.
On Wednesday, February 21 the councillors will decide whether to accept the recommendations put forward from council staff on the plan and endorse it as it stands.
A council spokesperson said councillors might decide to make amendments to the plan based on the community consultation and submissions which were received.
If councillors choose not to adopt the draft plan it will go back on exhibition for 28 days with the proposed changes.
The council spokesperson said regardless of whether the plan is endorsed or not the dredging works at the Lake Cathie foreshore is still scheduled to take place in May.
Council meetings are usually held in the council chambers at the Port Macquarie office, corner of Lord and Burrawan Streets.
The meeting is open to members of the community.
Residents can address council in an ordinary council meeting on any agenda item as either in support of the recommendation or opposed to it.
People who want to speak at a meeting will need to lodge the appropriate form to either address the council on an agenda item or in the public forum.
