Beatles Festival Port Macquarie cancelled for 2018

FEAR not, Beatles fans. Port Macquarie’s annual tribute event has not been cancelled but rather postponed until 2019.

The Beatles Festival is held each year at Westport Park, but former organiser Janette Hyde said 2018’s planned festivities did not work out for a number of reasons.

“Because of the hot days last year and the constant rain in February the committee decided to move it to July,” she explained.

“I stepped down as the organiser, I couldn’t do it anymore, and although we tried to get an organiser we weren’t able to.”

Mrs Hyde said the event was always well received.

“It is an excellent event that attracts a lot of people to town,” she said.

“We will have a gap year and are sure that we can find an organiser and come back in 2019.”
