Port Macquarie head lifeguard James Turnham said that beaches across the Hastings are looking great.
“After last week, the conditions at the moment are near perfect, the water is warming but it is great weather to head to your local patrolled beach and cool off in the surf,” Mr Turnham said.
“There is a small north east wind which is making the patrolled section of Lighthouse Beach the best place to be, but all the beaches across the Hastings today are excellent.
“I think we will begin to see more people coming down to the beach to cool off as the day goes on.”
Weatherzone meteorologist Jacob Cronje said Port Macquarie residents can expect to feel temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s for the remainder of the week.
“Generally this week, conditions will be warm and dry, with day time temperatures between 29-31 degrees every day,” Mr Cronje said.
“There is the potential for thunderstorms in land of Port Macquarie on Thursday which may cause a few showers on either Thursday or Friday, and the expected cloud cover on those day will make for fairly humid conditions.”
Mr Cronje said that temperatures in Port Macquarie are currently above average for this time of year, and there is no relief in the near future.
“We are certainly seeing above average temperatures for this time of year, 2-3 degrees warmer during the day and up to 3 degrees warmer at nights but this above average temperatures should be here for at least the next fortnight.”
