Charlie Wallace says he is ecstatic after he captured a special turtle moment with his camera.

The Lakewood resident has lived in the area for 12 years but said this is only the second time he has managed to take a photo of a turtle coming up for air.

Charlie often goes for a walk along the North Haven breakwall and on Saturday, January 6 at about 10am he saw people pointing at something in the water.

“I raced over and kept my finger on the button of the camera so that I would be ready,” he said.

Charlie said he didn’t have to wait long to get the image he was hoping for.

Charlie takes photos of everything and anything.

“People take their dog for a walk but I take my camera for a walk,” he said.
