Produced in conjunction with the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania and Tasmanians United for Marriage Equality, the video aims to spread an inclusive message about the state.
The video features LGBTI human rights advocate Rodney Croome, and his partner, Rafael Manzanilla, talking about Tasmania's transformation.
“Tasmania is an obvious wedding destination for same-sex couples because of out beautiful natural environment, historic buildings and sophisticated hospitality industry,” Mr Croome said.
“But we have something just as appealing; a story about how we have transformed ourselves from being the last state to decriminalise homosexuality to being one of the most inclusive and friendly places for LGBTI people in Australia.”
The video is the first of its kind in Australia, and works with the nation’s first Rainbow Tourism Accreditation program that aims to recognise the legal responsibilities of tourism and hospitality operators.
