The two-day festival featured Australian artists including Ivan Ooze, Melbourne band The Bennies and Horrorshow.
It was backstage artist liaison Carmel Debreuil’s third time working at the event and she described the atmosphere as having a family vibe.
“It’s a family atmosphere within our working crew, bands and punters who have been coming for years,” she said.
FOTSUN wrapped up from the caravan park on Sunday with campers and visitors leaving early before the big clean up began.
Carmel said the event organisers encouraged all the punters to be proactive to help the clean up effort. She said while it is a big task, it is easier if everyone gets on board.
“We also have a great waste team who are going through and picking up anything left over,” she said.
“The new recycling policy has definitely helped.
“I’m really impressed.”
At 12pm on December 10 Carmel said the place was almost spotless.
Carmel praised the behaviour of people who attended the festival.
“People seemed to be enjoying themselves,” she said.
Carmel also commended the efforts of the security team, police, camp wardens and volunteers who kept everyone safe.
“We have a great team who help people out if they do get into any trouble,” she said.
Carmel enjoyed working backstage with musicians as they prepared to do their act.
“Organiser Simon Luke has a great ability to find young, fresh talent so for a lot of bands getting into the line-up of FOTSUN is the beginning of their career,” she said.
“He (Simon) is a really great talent spotter and he gets a line-up which has some really well known acts but also those who are less well known.”
Port Macquarie Police said there were no significant incidents at the event.
Inspector Neville said generally speaking police were pleased with the behaviour of people who attended.
