On Sunday, the Port Macquarie Sailing Club held their marathon race which started from the sailing club at McInherney Park and headed down to the Town Green.

It then went up to the Dennis Bridge on the Pacific Highway and then back to the sailing club.
Despite the weather prediction saying otherwise, the race was sailed in sparkling sunny weather with a lovely north-easterly breeze that covered the whole course.
The strong run-out tide was as predicted.
With a lot of the catamarans away at Grafton sailing in a NSW/QLD Arrow catamaran get together, it was decided to race the remaining catamaran and the monohulls as one fleet.

After being late to the start line, the ever-fast Paul Robertson and Warren Sykes in Flembuoyant were first on yardstick.
They were followed by Tony Walker in Deep Purple, Elsa and Simon Gandy and Caitlin in Voyager, then Phil and Blake Lillehagen in Elmo.
Dave Winter was then on Spica, followed by Stuart Symons, James Zuirblis and Abi Param in Big Bang and after just under four hours of racing, Jane Cooper and Sharon Carney in Jupiter.
Next Sunday is the next series of sprint races starting with two back-to-back races at midday, lunch, then three more back-to-back races.
