Proposed features of the Lake Cathie Foreshore Master Plan include a fenced playground, picnic areas, two metre wide linking paths, shared cycle/pedestrian 2.5 metre footpath, 24 additional car parks and an interactive family skate and recreation park including seating and exercise equipment.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council group manager Lucilla Marshall said the plan aims to make the foreshore a more inclusive area for the whole community to enjoy.
Members of the local community volunteered their time recently to contribute as a Think Tank Team aimed at sharing ideas and shaping the future of the Lake Cathie foreshore.
The fun day event provided an opportunity for people to have their say on the draft plan by giving feedback to council staff.
At the event people enjoyed face painting, live music, games and family activities.
