Among a host of items stolen in the incident is a signed Billy Slater backpack and football jersey.
Also stolen was a brand new pair of football boots, as well as a bike and two scooters which were part of a planned raffle.
Club secretary Belinda Fisher says the break-in will cost the club between $4000 and $5000.
"The canteen is pretty much a mess," she said. "We had a host of volunteers turned up on Sunday for a big clean-up. But it is pretty devastating.
"We had a football jerseys folded up and ready for next season sitting in some boxes and a number of these were stolen too. As were a couple of footballs and some hooters.
"We have been forced to throw out a lot of food because it was soiled while those responsible also flicked mayonnaise everywhere."
Mrs Fisher said the club had just moved the gear into the canteen.
"This is going to set us back for next year and we will now be implementing surveilance including an alarm system," she added.

Police have been notified and are investigating the matter.
Mrs Fisher said the club was also quietly spreading the word on social media and via outher outlets.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council acting director Dan Croft confirmed damage had occurred at several other canteens in recent times.
“Damage caused by break-ins and acts of vandalism have occurred at a number of local sporting field canteens last week," he said.
"Police have been notified and are investigating incidents at Wood Street, Tuffins Lane, Stuart Park and Wayne Richards Park.
"Council staff are currently working to repair minor damage as a result of the criminal activity to ensure minimal disruption to local sporting groups.
"Council encourages anyone witnessing vandalism to any of our community facilities to immediately report it to the police.”
