Spokesperson for the three NRMA Branches and JTS, Suzie Gamack, said this year’s donations will be going to REAP Food Rescue who distribute food to our local charities within the Port Macquarie and Wauchope region.
“Our NRMA offices in Wauchope, Laurieton and Port Macquarie are collection points for donations of non-perishable food items such as tinned foods, Christmas cakes and puddings and Christmas treats to make up hampers for these needy families by mid December,” she said.
“All our staff contribute too. This is about encouraging everyone making a small donation. Over the years we have received tremendous support from our local customers, as well as local businesses in the Hastings area.
“Last year was again a huge success with the biggest collection we have had yet due to the generosity of our local community. We had a few customers who brought in large boxes and huge plastic tubs which were full to the brim which they had collected at their street Christmas party functions. The local generosity is absolutely amazing. These hampers have been gratefully received by REAP” Suzie said.
If you can help NRMA staff support this wonderful Christmas appeal, please drop your donations into one of the above NRMA offices by noon on Monday December 11.
