Resurfacing was scheduled to begin on November 8 but rain, and the threat of further wet weather, delayed the project start date until November 13.

The skate park will remain open during the work, but skaters will not have full access to the site, as the work will be done in sections.

The resurfacing work is expected to take about a fortnight.
