So who is Craig and why is his arrival so important?
His son, Aaron, was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma, the most common form of paediatric brain tumour.
Aaron was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in September 2016. Since then, Aaron and his family, including Craig, mum Hannah and brothers Seth, Isaac and Eli, have fought the tumour in a bid to be fit, healthy and happy again.
Mr Tanner decided to give back to two causes that aided his son and their family - Ronald McDonald House Parkville and Paediatric Brain Cancer Research.
He has been walking from Tugun, just over the Queensland border, to Toora in South Gippsland.
The 2,500 kilometre walk began on October 14 and Port Macquarie will be a pitstop for Craig and his crew, including a support vehicle, on October 28.
He will pass through the town and will be taking donations for the charities while he stops over for the day.
