Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Lifesaving Club had a fabulous Open Day last weekend. Mayor Peta Pinson came to the beach with club members to join in all the fun.
The Mayor tried her hand at some of the first aid activities and she even had a go at the ninja warrior-style obstacle course.
Leanne Goggin from the club said they have good numbers registered so far – 125 junior lifesavers have already signed up.
“However, if you’d like your child to be involved in nippers, it’s not too late to start. Our first official nippers day starts this Sunday, October 22, from 9am,” she said.
You can register online at joinsls.com and come down to beautiful Rainbow Beach in Bonny Hills.
Lifesavers have been back on patrol for almost a month, and rising spring temperatures have seen thousands flock to the beach meaning a busy start to the season for our valued volunteers.
Over 74,000 people registered last year.
