Six boats ventured seaward with sixteen fisher persons on board.
The winner of the prestigious trophy for the biggest flathead of the day was Billy Vogel with a magnificent ocean sand flathead of 52 centimetres.
Vogel successfully contested the trophy he won last year. The day is run every year in memory of Bob Chapman a long time member of the club.
Bob was an avid flathead fisherman so the trophy goes to the person who catches the biggest flathead during the outing.
The clubs barbecue and weigh-in commenced at midday and was very well supported by members, families and friends.
The best boat on the day was ‘Blackout’ skippered by Jarrod Hodge and the runner-up was ‘Gunna’ skippered by Jim Fischer.
The Mid Coast Marine Trophy for the heaviest catch was won by Jarrod Hodge with 31.64 points.
The Emerald Downs Golf Course Trophy for the best morwong was won by Zac Cottrell and the best of other species prize was won by Jarrod Hodge with a magnificent Bar Cod tipping the scales at 10.04 kilograms.
The species caught the most was won by Sam Lambrou and the secret award was won by Greg Fatches.
The club’s next outing will be held on October 22.
Anyone wishing to join the club or attend the weigh-ins and barbecue are most welcome.
