YOU will often see Lorne resident Jenny Higgins on the rivers in her dragon boat. That is because she has called the Mid North Coast home for 30 years and loves getting on the Hastings River.

“I don’t mind the drive in to Port four times a week,” she said.

“The are is so laid back. It’s not like the city. When I go there (the city) I feel claustrophobic. Up here there are so many sports to do and the rivers are great, and they are ideal for dragon boating which I have been doing for almost a decade.”

There is plenty of cloud about today. A light sprinkles has descended on Port Macquarie, and the rest of the day will bring a medium chance of showers, most likely this afternoon and evening.

There is a chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon and evening, mainly in the west. Winds are southerly, 15 to 20 kilometres an hour becoming light in the afternoon.

Daytime maximum temperatures are between 19 and 25 degrees.
