It was a great win for local Port Macquarie builders Fiona and Andrew Petterson, of Hotondo Homes builders, as they were the announced winners of the Local Area Marketing Event of the Year, at the 2017 Hotondo Homes National Conference in September for their highly successful grand opening celebration.
As a national franchise, this award recognises the franchisee who held an event to help unite the local community and made a significant effort to connect with potential, current and past clients.
Director Fiona Petterson was excited to see the teams’ efforts awarded and believes their grand opening presented a great opportunity to network with both clients and industry members.
“We believe networking is absolutely vital in any business, it gives you an opportunity to share knowledge and insights about both the industry and building in the local area,” Ms Petterson said.
“We put a lot of effort into organising the grand opening and receiving this award is definitely one of the highlights of the year for us.”
Hotondo Homes Managing Director Michael Renwick believes Fiona and Andrew’s grand opening event showcased exactly what the brand embodies.
“The opening was planned and executed perfectly! The team showcased their quality craftsmanship and professionalism while connecting with members of the local area,” Mr Renwick said.

“The success not only of the grand opening, but the display home as a whole proves they understand the requirements of their local area and know how to fulfil the needs of their clients.”
This follows as the brother-sister duo were awarded Best Display Home up to $350,000 at the HIA Northern NSW Awards in early September. The team are now state finalists in the category with the winners being revealed on October 14 in Sydney.
“Our display is one of the most important aspects of our success story to date! We’ve received overwhelming feedback from our clients and the award recognition is the cherry on top of what’s been an amazing journey!” Ms Petterson said.
