Port Macquarie Triathlon Club will launch its 2017-18 season with a Come ‘n Tri race at McInherney Park on October 1.

Club president, Ben Johnson said the first race of the season would give newcomers a taste of the sport in a safe and encouraging environment.
“Our Come ‘n Tri race is the perfect opportunity to try a triathlon with the support of experienced club members,” Johnson said.
Participants can enter either the half distance race (300m swim, nine-kilometre bike and 2.5km run or sprint distance of 600m swim, 18-kilometre ride and five-kilometre run.
Juniors aged 10 years and over are also encouraged to join in.
A variety of races are on offer this season from graded triathlons and aquathons, to handicap races – all contributing to championship title points.
Registration for the Come ‘n Tri race is between 6.15am and 6.45am on the day, with the juniors kicking off at 6.50am and the seniors race at 7am.
