DAVID Bevan has called Port Macquarie home for two and a half years. He relocated from Ballina for work.

"I didn’t know much about the area before I moved here. It's got a similar vibe to Ballina which is what I'm use to,” he said.

“There are a lot of things that are great about Port, but pretty much everything is 10 minutes away. It's so accessible.

“One of the things that could be improved are the bike lanes. I'm a relaxed bike commuter so it would be good to have some more bike lanes so it doesn't get so hectic in some areas."

A total fire ban is in place on the Mid North Coast. Several small bush fires are burning, however none are yet classified as emergencies.

Temperatures will soar above 30 degrees today. Weatherzone is reporting a 70 percent chance of rain throughout our Wednesday on the Mid North Coast, with Port Macquarie to exceed 30 degrees by lunch time.

Winds will be northerly, up to 18 kilometres an hour and relative humidity will climb to 42 percent by midday. Showers are expected to follow tomorrow, albeit easing. Winds will increase tomorrow to 33 kilometres an hour.
