A motorcycle rider has been injured in a crash in King Creek near Wauchope

A 48 year old motorcyclist is listed in a critical condition in Port Macquarie Base Hospital after colliding with a silver Lexus on the Oxley Highway on Monday morning (September 11).

The crash occurred at the intersection with King Creek Road at around 11.20am.

Paramedics, police, NSW Rural Fire Service attended the scene.

Wauchope's Senior Constable Karen Pascoe said police will continue their enquiries into the accident.

"It appears that the silver Lexus has stopped on the line (on King Creek Road) and was going to make a right hand turn," Snr Cst Pascoe said.

"The motorcyclist was travelling on the Oxley Highway toward Wauchope. They have collided.

"The condition of the rider is currently unknown. The vehicle driver, a female, is showing no signs of ill health at this time.

"We will conduct further interviews and continue our enquries into the accident."

Traffic control measures were put in place with one lane of the highway open to alternate traffic.
