The September 7 and 8 production will mark 21 years since drama teacher Pauline Cain first directed the play at the school.
“The iconic Australian play has aged well over the years,” Pauline said.
Some of the props and costumes from the 1996 production will make an appearance, while some of the original cast members are expected to be in the audience.
Pauline said the play resonated with people on the coast.
The play by Michael Gow tells the story of three families who go away for the summer holidays at the end of 1967 to relax.
Each family faces internal conflict as one is recovering from the loss of a child, one fearing the same for her own and one learning to let go.
As family secrets swell and gather into a storm, each family finds new understanding and hope for a better life.
Year 11 drama students make up the cast and fill production roles from lighting to sound.
The production is an assessment task for the Year 11 drama class.
Tickets are available at the senior office at $10 for adults and $5 concession.
The production, directed by Pauline Cain, will be held at the Lochinvar Centre from 7pm on September 7 and 8.
Pauline said the Lochinvar Centre would be transformed from an ordinary school hall into a space that accommodated the demands of the play and also replicated glimpses into life in the 1960s.
