Tahlia Sheather, student Hastings Secondary College Westport Campus has been part of the Westport Aware Students of Cancer And Leukaemia Sufferers (WASCAL) program for the last two years. She volunteers as part of the program because she wanted to contribute to something which made a difference in her community.
"To know that our fundraising efforts provide a glimmer of hope and positivity to those families who are suffering gives me tremendous satisfaction,” she said.
WASCALS is now in its 26th year and raises between $6,000 - $8,000 per annum for families in our community who are suffering Cancer and Leukaemia. Daffodil Day is our biggest day, and we hope fundraise approximately $2000.
