THERE will be food, live music, fun and games, and plenty of beer and cider. What more could you ask for?
The Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival at Westport Park is slated for September 23.
Beer and cider brewers from as far as Tasmania and as close to home will be putting their product on display for all to taste and critique.
Live music will be provided by Chase the Sun, Claude Hay, Barrel House, Benje Travis and Chris Rose.
In the true spirit of the festival, this year being the third of its kind, there will be games aplenty.
With a new year organisers have introduced a new format, a new game, and new challenges.
They will be crowning a festival king and queen. These people epitomize everything that makes a sporting great. They will have demonstrated speed, agility, strength, accuracy, and a primeval will to win.
To earn the crown, people will compete in three disciplines: the keg toss, the keg roll, and the thong throw.
Scores and rankings from all three events will be tallied and bragging rights established. The male and female with the highest combined total will be crowned the festival’s King and Queen respectively.
There will be cold hard cash, kindly sponsored by The Country Brewer Port Macquarie, with prizes for first, second and third male and female.
