The charity have assisted Emily Wright, a 14-year- old touch rugby player who has been selected to play in the Australian U21 women’s touch rugby team.
They will compete at the National Touch Rugby Australia Trans-Tasman series in Tweed Heads against New Zealand in October.
Emily previously represented NSW NTRA in both U16 and U21 Women’s teams in a State of Origin Series of 3 against QLD NTRA in Coffs Harbour in June this year.
This led to her being selected to play in the Aussie team.
Stephen Perkins, Chairman of the Lions Sports Foundation congratulated Emily.
“Our Club are very happy to help with financial assistance,” he said.
“This would not be possible without the help from local businesses such as long term sponsor Terry Griffiths of Griffiths Traders, Tractor and Backhoe Parts Suppliers.”
