The first half was a tight affair with neither team able to register any success on the scoreboard.
The second half begun in much the same fashion as the first half with both teams determined to be the first to put their mark on the game.
As luck would have it the Wolverines managed to be awarded a short corner.
The Wolverines came out hard on the short corner and some sticky defence work by Thunder converted the short corner into a penalty stroke in favour of the Wolverines.
Matt Dean stepped up to the dot to take it, outwitted the Thunder goalkeeper and the ball flew by him into the back of the net.
Less then three minutes later midfielder Sean Dixon was able to confuse defenders and the Thunder goalkeeper with his shot on goal being a slower moving ball that made its way across the goal line.
With 10 minutes to go captain Luke Hough stepped up on an attacking short corner to get the Wolverines up 3-0.
The team then relaxed a little bit, creating an opening for Thunder to sneak one past goalkeeper Dominic Tagliapietra taking the score to 3-1 where it stayed till full time.
Wauchope RSL player of the match was awarded to Sean Dixon.
Next week sees the Wolverines take on Camden Haven in the last round match where they will be aiming at working on and improving team structure for the final series.
Our B grade men Wolf Pack put a strong bid in for their semi final berth on Saturday against a strong Camden Haven side with goals from Paul Mason and Colin Pursehouse in the opening 10 minutes setting up the game, and sealed the lead with a goal from Jonathon Snell just before half time.
The second half saw a much slower game in attack unable to convert as many opportunities as they did in the first half, but a late goal from Zack Mason closed out the win.
In a game with strong team work and excellent passing coach Kyle Tipping was hard pressed to choose the man of the match but settled on Jonathan Snell for his breakaways and selfless game play.
