Striker Matt Broderick said “no words could describe” the night, but it was one he would remember forever.
“If you didn’t know what you were going to do before you had the ball, you lost it,” he said.
Broderick was marked by Jets central defender and captain Nigel Boogaard and admitted he knew what the Jets defence was going to do.
He just couldn’t stop them from doing it.
“They were on us and pressing really well,” he said.
“You could hear Nigel talking to his defenders about what they needed to do.”
The crispness of the Jets ball movement was the main memory Broderick remembered.
“It was just really quick,” he said
Broderick admitted the support from the crowd was something he had never experienced.
“They just cheered everything – even if it was a pass,” he said.
“I made a run down the sideline and I could hear the kids I coach through futsal cheering me on and I recognised every one of their voices.”
