Create NSW will host a project ideas clinic for two hours at the Glasshouse. The clinic starts at 1.30pm.
The agency is responsible for promoting arts, screen and culture funding initiatives.
The roadshow will promote the various funding opportunities and additional support on offer to arts individuals and organisations across the state, in line with the state government’s priority for promoting arts.
CEO Michael Brealey says Create NSW will be ‘visible in the heart of the communities that we are supporting, so that talent in the area knows exactly who to come to for support’.
“As well as a multitude of NSW government funding initiatives offered through the arts and cultural development program, support for screen development and production, and for screen industry development and for small film festivals, we can also offer a wealth of advice and information that may make a huge difference to the many diverse arts individuals and groups in the region,” he said.
“Applying for funding can be a daunting process and isn't a one size-fits-all model, so we want to be able to show artists exactly who we are, listen to their needs and have a relaxed face to face conversations to advise on what the best options are for support.
“The variety of funding opportunities available through this program will help strengthen our small to medium arts and cultural organisations, create opportunities for skills development and unlock the full potential of artists and cultural practitioners.
“It is central to the continued success of our state’s dynamic arts and culture,” he said.
Mr Brealey said that the program will support projects that focus on excellence, engagement and participation within priority areas including Aboriginal arts and culture, people living and/or working in regional NSW, people living with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and young people.
The visit to Port Macquarie is part of a wider roadshow which Create NSW has been undertaking across the state since May to deliver workshops, panel discussions, one-on-one meetings with artists and organisations, arts project ideas clinics, funding information sessions and networking opportunities.
Create NSW will host the project ideas clinic at the Glasshouse on Friday August 18 from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
