The state government has announced a huge boost for sports facilities with $100 million to be invested in new and existing sports infrastructure across regional NSW.
The Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund, part of the Deputy Premier’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, will be used to improve the quality and quantity of sports venues, to benefit the whole community by encouraging participation and developing facilities that will allow the region to host major sporting events.
We want to improve the playing experience, and the fan experience. I am working with local government and sporting groups to identify projects that will benefit our region and help develop business cases to secure funding. Pacific Highway update
A new interactive Pacific Highway map will keep the community updated on progress on one of Australia’s biggest infrastructure projects. The map was developed by Roads and Maritime Services and gives information about current and completed projects between Sydney and Brisbane.
The Pacific Highway stretches hundreds of kilometres and has been the talk of not only the north coast community, but also the thousands of drivers who use the road. The map can be used by anyone travelling between Hexham and the Queensland border wanting to know where work is being carried out.
It also shows where rest stops and service stations are located, so motorists can better plan their trip and where they can expect to be driving on four lane divided road. The map is designed to be user friendly on hand held devices like mobile phones and tablets as well as desktop computers. The interactive map is available by visiting the Roads and Maritime website at the below link: rms.nsw.gov.au/projects/pacific-highway/index.html.
