Each rug is made up of 30 knitted squares, on average.
Port Macquarie CWA Branch members, and their family members and friends knitted the squares.
Helen Soles crocheted around the squares and assistant craft officer Margaret Wilson made the squares into rugs.
The branch donates the rugs to aged care facilities.
Craft officer Marilyn Brown and assistant craft officer Margaret Wilson packed the rugs ready for delivery.
They added a few beanies and scarves as well.
Mrs Wilson said the volunteers were really committed to making the squares.
“It goes to a good cause because it is all donated,” she said.
The craft group meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 1pm to 3pm at the Port Macquarie CWA rooms.
