The Snappers are currently sitting on top of the table and could end Pirates’ season with a win.
Port Macquarie requires two wins from its remaining two matches to qualify for the finals, but Young welcomed the challenge.
“We’ve been in this situation for the last three weeks ever since the Vikings game,” he said.
“We’ll be at full strength except for Scotty Munro who is unavailable, but we have had our best intensity at training all season in the last couple of weeks.”
There is little margin for error if Pirates wish to play finals football.
“If we win one of our last two we will be heavily reliant on the last round and we don’t want it to come to that,” Young said.
Young felt Pirates were capable of producing a boilover result at Stuart Park.
“When we played Coffs last time they ran away with it in the last five minutes because we were pushing for points,” he said.
“We’re a lot different team to the one that played the last round, but we also know we will have to be near our best to come away with the win.”
First grade kicks off at 3pm.
