While the loss of his wallet and the associated credit cards, licence and other important and well-used documentation was critical, Tristan says his wallet also contained something far more valuable.
He posted the following on social media.
“Hey everyone. If by any chance someone has found my wallet I dropped this morning (Tuesday) walking between Towns Beach and Flynns, please have the heart to hand it in,” he said in the post.
“It has two weeks rent in it I was going to go in and pay after my walk and being a single parent this will absolutely devastate me. Please share if possible.”
The response from supportive posts was immediate and there were plenty of shares too.
Fortunately for Tristan, he struck gold.
Local residents Kylie and Marc Tombs contacted Tristan via the site and said they had found his wallet.
“I was gobsmacked. I’ve found different things over the years – including iphones – and have always returned them,” Tristan said.
“I can’t thank Kylie and Marc enough for what they did.
“My faith in humanity has been restored and I believe a bit more in karma,” he said.
