The nurse was engaged by the producers to be on the set during the filming for a three month period from August 1973.
One of the reunion organisers, Mitch McKay, said the nurse worked at the hospital when it was located in Morton Street, Port Macquarie.
“We are hoping we can establish her name or even locate her for the reunion,” Mr McKay said.
“During our search for the nurse, we have also found out that a local person – a Joan Boston – worked as a caterer for the cast and crew too.
“We are wanting to make contact with both these crew members.
“As well, we are giving a shout out for any locals who participated in some way with the filming.
“This is an important, historical event and, as such, every piece of the story is important no matter how seemingly unimportant it may appear.”
Mr McKay said he was aware that Port Macquarie local Alan 'Digit' Dick was employed for three months as a lifesaver/lifeguard during the filming.
“There has to be people in this community that were either directly or indirectly involved in the filming. It’s important we can gather all this information before it is lost.”
There were 12 episodes filmed at Miners Beach with the joint production between a German television production company, Scottish TV and ABC Australia.
“The joint production meant that each country had actors represented in the episodes,” he added.
Two Australian-based child actors involved in the filming will be returning to Port Macquarie to participate in the History Week 2017 event.
Former cast and crew will also be providing access to personal scrapbooks and other information relevant to the filming.
The public is invited to participate in, the discovery walk along Miners Beach, a question and answer session in the Sea Acres theatrette or attending a film screening of three episodes at the Glasshouse.
Bookings are being taken through Sea Acres for the Discover Walk and the Q&A – contact Natalie Talbot or Cassie Dodds on 6582 3355. Bookings for the evening film screening are to be made direct to the Glasshouse. Tickets for the evening event will be available as of Friday July 28..
