Her son, Dylan, sustained a traumatic brain injury and since then she has become an active advocate for Dylan and for broader brain injury awareness.
Her bus will take her around Australia to many towns to raise awareness for people affected by brain disorders, to shine a light on this invisible disability and try break down the barriers for a more inclusive community.
She is also an ardent supporter of Synapse and is a Synapse Ambassador. Synapse is an organisation dedicated to reconnecting the lives of those affected by brain injury.
“I’m already receiving messages from all over the country. It’s a matter of people wanting to talk about their own experience and be heard,” she said.
“The thing I find is that no matter where you go, every person you talk to knows someone who has been affected. The whole community support thing is very important to me.”
Belinda will be in Bonny Hills and Port Macquarie, with times to be confirmed on her Facebook page: @BelsBigBusTour
