I write to assure the community – in particular the residents of Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills and the Camden Haven – that the upgrading of Ocean Drive is already high on Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s list of essential roadwork projects. During this financial year remedial repairs will be carried out and route design work completed. Council will undertake priority repairs and resurfacing of sections of the road within Lake Cathie.

Council has also allocated an additional $500,000 - $250,000 for a detailed re-design of a large section of Ocean Drive through Lake Cathie, and another $250,000 to develop a long-term plan for the entire Ocean Drive Regional Road corridor, from Kew through to Port Macquarie.
Details of these three projects can be read online in the Council Report of June 21, 2017. Agenda Item 9.07 – pg. 71. You will see that these works are just one part of a record Capital Works program being delivered.
If I am elected as Mayor on July 29, I’ll make sure the staged upgrading of Ocean Drive continues to be a high priority.
