Q: What is Jensen Reign?
A: Jensen Reign is about the king in you and building your own kingdom, with each design representing your crown. This is just a metaphor for acknowledging and respecting the unique you, taking deliberate action to explore your potential and building a more meaningful and aligned life. A life lived on your terms. Your kingdom, where you reign.
Q: What is the inspiration for the brand’s name?
A: Jensen is the name of our four year old son. I was holding him just a few hours after his birth and had a very tangible sense of the possibilities before him. I saw him creating a designed life, his kingdom, where he would reign.
Q: How did you arrive at this point in your life?
A: After leaving university with an accounting degree I worked in the banking industry, including time in London and Brussels (punctuated by retail stints at the family bicycle shop in Port). And although these positions were enjoyable they left me feeling like there must be something more to life. About that time I vowed never to put a suit and tie on again (not for work at least); I moved to Canada and worked in sales for a large fitness chain, in construction and even opened and operated a camp ground on the site of the movie Dances with Wolves.
Q: What business opportunities arose when you returned to Australia?
A: I returned to Australia in 2004 with my now wife Darlene and I quickly found my feet in the fitness industry, buying into and eventually owning Five Star Fitness in Port and Wauchope. In more recent years I was a corporate consultant to a national property group.
Q: How did this success shape your future?
A: As much as I enjoyed these experiences I still felt a desire to explore something more meaningful and closer to my true self.
Much of what I had experienced was more because it seemed like the thing to do rather than it been some deliberate action toward building a life that would not just be successful as society may dictate but actually had meaning…..had a deep sense of alignment and fulfillment, of happiness.
Q: What’s the underlying message of Jensen Reign?
A: At the core of Jensen Reign is the belief we are all enough and acknowledging and respecting this is the gateway to a more meaningful life.
By embracing our uniqueness we act in deliberate intent and what happens is we find life starts to flow to us rather than us chasing life. The outcome is inner peace and happiness. If we all found this inner peace the world would be a better place.
Q: Was this a new business experience for you?
A: I actually embarked on this journey with little understanding of exactly what had to be done or how to do it. But the vision was enough to keep me moving. I am excited by the opportunity global village e-commerce presents and I’ve enjoyed working with people from Australia, Canada, China and Russia on the development of the business.
Q: And the response, given it’s only been two or three weeks since the launch?
A: I’ve been overwhelmed. Product reviews containing descriptions including; immaculate, beautiful, perfect, next-level, quality and my new favourite piece of jewellery appear on the business website jensenreign.com
Q: Any stand outs for you?
A: There are a few particular experiences, including direct contact from a Sydney niteclub owner who says he now gets more compliments on his bracelet than his watch. Then there’s the owner of a national jewellery franchise who on receipt of his order immediately purchased the range topping bracelet. It was the purchase by parents for their 17 year old son’s birthday that most struck a cord.
Their son had watched some of the videos on our site and was motivated to push to be the best version of himself, inspired to untap the king in him, and wear his own crown.
Q: What’s the future hold?
A: I am excited to explore many more creative ideas both in jewellery and other product lines and I’m extremely grateful to Darlene, our family and friends who have provided amazing support and belief in the vision.
