She has been inspired by her aunt to give back to those less fortunate and will have her hair cut on Saturday, July 8 at 10am.
The hair will be donated to Variety - the Children's Charity to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
“I was inspired by my Aunty who donated her hair a few months ago,” Hannah said.
“I want to help all the children who need a wig. Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting one to two years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs.”
Hannah’s mum, Jasmine Healy, was very proud of her daughter.
“She’s always had long hair and I’m very proud of her for doing this cut,” she said.
“It was all her idea and she really wanted to do it to help other kids. She knows the impact it will have and is very excited.
“A change will be good for her, and it will boost her confidence. She has already raised $500 and wants to reach $900 by the time she shaves her head.”
