Guest speaker on the day, Clinton Gibbs, from NSW Health spoke to the students about the importance of healthy eating and drinking water. He said that the Crunch and Sip program is an easy way to encourage students to stay healthy.
The program allows student to bring fruit and vegetables to school each day to eat in class. Some classes opt for a specific time in the morning, as others choose whenever they feel hungry to crunch on fruit or vegetables whilst still actively participating in classwork.
Canteen Manager, Donna Edenborough, runs a super healthy canteen, making 80 percent of the food sold from scratch following the Healthy School Canteen guidelines. Westport is working on creating healthy habits for our future generations.
