Missy needs owners who have experience in training large dogs as she will continue to grow. She is excitable and strong on the lead at the moment. It would be a good idea to walk her using a halti or harness to give you better control.
She does know how to sit, especially for food, so with positive reinforcements she will be happy to please. Further training will be needed to show her how to behave around children and smaller animals.
At the moment it isn’t practical for Missy to go to a home with small pets as she loves to chase them and it would not be fair on them. It is also recommended she goes to a family with older children as she might over small children by accident until she learns good manners.
Missy cannot be placed on hold so be quick if you feel she is the girl for you.
Missy is desexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed, heartworm tested and will cost $300 to adopt.
TIKKA
Tikka is a young white female fantail pigeon in need of a new aviary to fly around in.
She came to the shelter as a stray bird but no one came looking for her. So now she is seeking a new place to roost in.
Tikka is suited to a home with other birds like herself as they are a social breed and like to share the company of others. She will need a place with a large area for her to fly around in.
Tikka is ready to join your family and will cost $15 to adopt.
All pets up for adoption are housed at the RSPCA shelter at 10 Karungi Crescent, Port Macquarie. The shelter is open 6 days a week from 10am until 3.30pm and is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays. You can also call 6581 0380.
