At last week’s meeting, council adopted a suite of future plans, including the budget for the coming financial year.
Over the next 12 months council will continue to build on the great work of recent years by investing more than $100 million into local infrastructure projects and completing major projects currently underway. The design of the Hastings Regional Sporting Facility at Wauchope, upgrades to the Port Macquarie Airport terminal, and road corridor planning from Port Macquarie to Kendall, spell exciting times ahead for our growing region.
A big thanks to more than 250 people who submitted feedback on our future plans. Your feedback has been key in ensuring council is focused on delivering what matters most for local residents, businesses and industry. For more information on the future plans visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/corporate-planning.
2017 Hidden Treasures Honour Roll Nominations
Nominations are now open for the Rural Women’s Network (RWN) 2017 Hidden Treasures Honour Roll. This is an annual initiative of the Department of Primary Industries’ RWN which recognises the outstanding efforts of women volunteers in NSW and promotes the valuable role of volunteering to the community.
Women are so often the backbone of families and communities and without their support many groups including charities, emergency services, the arts, environment, social justice, education and sporting organisations would struggle to survive.
Nominating a volunteer is a great way to celebrate their commitment and passion in improving our communities and neighbourhoods. If you know someone who deserves recognition for their great efforts in making our community a better place to live, nominate them by visiting dpi.nsw.gov.au and search Hidden Treasures.
