A TWO nil win over Kempsey Saints has boosted the confidence of Port United who now have to prepare for two games in four days.
Coach Nathan Wade was impressed with his team, saying it was touch to pick a man of the match.
“The boys played really well. I couldn’t fault any one of them,” he said.
“We were on top from the word go and controlled the whole game. That was just the way it worked out. From my point of view I thought we never looked like getting beat.”
He said while Kempsey are very physical side, the loss United suffered in round one to the Saints spurred them on to get the result this time around.
“They have a lot of fast youngsters and probably a better side than where they sit on the ladder,” he said. “They beat us in the first round and we were prepared for a tough game, which took them off guard a bit.”
United play a catch up game on Tuesday night, followed by an away trip on Saturday.
