Northern NSW Football established Silent Saturday with the focus being to ‘just let the kids play’. Coaches, parents and spectators were encouraged to ‘keep quiet’ and show support by clapping.
Lake Cathie Football Club embraced the concept and the objective of kids playing football for fun.
Club President Troy Pemberton said, “It was great to see all parents and spectators on the day follow the Silent Saturday initiative. The sidelines were quieter than a usual Saturday morning but that didn’t stop the kids getting out there, playing and having fun. Thanks to all the supporters of the opposition clubs on the day for also taking part.”
