It is all in the name of fund raising for the accord’s initiatives and campaigns, which promote safe venues and responsibility with alcohol.
An example of a successful campaign is using a Plan B, which has been supported by Port Taxis.
The day is supported by major clubs like Port Macquarie Panthers and Port City Bowling Club, amongst all the hotels in town and some restaurants and local businesses local the Holiday Coast Credit Union and Miedecke Motor Group.
“Its deliberately a fun day and we play an ambrose style comp with his of prizes for longest shot, closest to pin and that kind of thing,” the accord’s president, Alistair Flower, said.
“We are only playing 12 holes this year as its been promoted to non players as much as players.
“I suggest everyone is like me – if you are playing well, then nine holes is too short but if are having a horrible game then 18 holes is far too long. Hopefully 12 holes will suit everyone.
“Its great to have all the hospitality business owners having a fun relaxed day away from their venues”
Tickets include lunch and hospitality all day. If you would like to purchase a ticket you can visit https://hastingsliquoraccord.com.au/annual-golf-day
