Port Macquarie Sailing Club held their annual presentation night for the 2016-17 sailing season at the club house on May 13.

Frank O’Rourke won the club championship on yardstick in the catamaran division, while Tony Kuhn on Stella won on handicap.

Simon and Elsa Gandy in Voyager won the club championship on yardstick for monohulls with Steve Bohlsen in Splash Dance the winner on handicap.

Another six race days throughout the season are dedicated to a series of up to five sprint races.

The winner of the catamaran division of the sprint series on yardstick was Stella and the handicap winner was Harpic.

The winner of the open catamaran division was Dino, the winner of the single-handed monohull was Terry Howard in Ratz, and Voyager won the two-handed monohull division.

The Easter cup is a standalone race held over Easter when many can be away or busy with families.

It was won by Dino while the junior encouragement award went to very promising young skipper, Elsa Gandy.

In a big night for the Gandy’s, Simon Gandy was named club person of the year for his encouragement of junior sailing and the many hours of morning training sessions this involves.

AGM will be July 11 and next season will start in September.
